What are flange protection sleeves?

Flange protection tubes are mechanical protective elements that shield measuring devices and their process connections in industrial plants from external influences. They are used wherever pressure and temperature measuring devices, pressure transmitters or pressure gauges are exposed to mechanical stress, cleaning processes or accidental impacts. In production environments with high plant activity – such as in the food, pharmaceutical or chemical industries – stresses regularly arise from start-up damage, tools, transport containers or high-pressure cleaning, which can damage sensitive measuring equipment. A flange protection tube acts as a robust protective barrier here: it encloses the component and prevents direct mechanical impacts without restricting the function or accessibility of the measuring point.

Unlike protection tubes that are inserted directly into the process, flange protection tubes serve to protect the installed components from the outside. They are usually made of durable stainless steel and are designed to provide both mechanical stability and a hygienic design.

Through the targeted use of flange protection tubes, operators increase plant availability, reduce unplanned downtime and extend the service life of their measurement technology – particularly in demanding production environments.
