HIT – Hygienic invasive temperature measurement

In this process, the protective tube protrudes through the wall of the pipe into the medium. Protective tubes are welded or screwed into the pipe – however, this carries the risk that the weld seams will not achieve the required hygienic surface finish after installation.

The HIT protective tube system developed by Labom offers a solution to this problem. It consists of standardised tube sections in straight or angled variants, which already feature a small welded-in protective sleeve. The electropolished pipe sections, with an internal surface roughness that meets hygiene standards, simply need to be orbitally welded to the process line by the customer. This allows consistently high-quality weld seams with low roughness to be produced. Once installed in the process, the measuring instruments can be replaced relatively easily and without interrupting the process. The protective sleeve remains in the process.
