The PASCAL Ci4 in action at Synthopol
As Labom has been working with the company for 30 years, the choice quickly fell on the Ci4: “We were already familiar with the high quality of Labom’s equipment, so we were open to trying out the new models,” said Peter Pistor, Head of EMSR at Synthopol.
User-friendliness and operational reliability are impressive
In particular, the special Quick Setup menu and the intuitive user guidance set the device apart and ensure easy and straightforward operation. As a result, the company was convinced of the Ci4’s benefits right from the initial tests. Furthermore, the Ci4 features comprehensive parameterisation, simulation and diagnostic functions: these not only enhance user-friendliness but also contribute to operational reliability.
The particular challenge for the Ci4 at Synthopol: as the company manufactures synthetic resins for the automotive industry, there must be absolutely nosilicone residues on the equipment. Otherwise, silicone could impair the adhesion of the paint. Components that come into contact with the process must therefore be completely free of silicone. Compliance with this requirement is meticulously checked upon delivery of the equipment by electronically ‘sniffing’ the measuring instruments.
Inside and outside – silicone-free side
At Synthopol, the measuring device and the process must be strictly separated, not only because of the silicone; the resin’s temperature of around 200 degrees would also damage the measuring devices. For this reason, the Ci4 is used here with pressure transmitters. The oil contained in the pressure transmitters used to contain silicone, but a new silicone-free technology is now employed. This meant that nothing stood in the way of using the Ci4.
The devices used at Synthopol are equipped with explosion protection and feature a robust stainless steel housing. The high quality of the products, their reliability and the personal advice provided by a direct contact person have led to a consistently good working relationship between Labom and Synthopol.
Highest measurement precision, robustness in the process combined with intuitive and user-friendly operation – this is what sets the PASCAL Ci4 series apart.
