Filter Press

In filter presses in pharmaceutical plants, solids are efficiently separated from liquids to obtain high-purity end products. This process is essential for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, where maximum purity is required.

The process begins with the introduction of the suspension into the filter press. Pressure is applied to force the liquid through the filter medium, whereby the solid particles are retained and form a so-called filter cake. The purified liquid, also known as filtrate, is collected separately and further processed.

Modern filter presses are designed to ensure high throughput rates and maximum recovery of valuable products. They are efficient, reliable and easy to operate and clean.
