Electronic measurement technology
Resistance sensors use the effect that the electrical resistance of a material changes depending on its temperature. This change in resistance can in turn be measured and converted into a temperature measurement. Pt100/ Pt1000 resistance thermometers are used wherever high precision and low drift are required.
Temperature measuring transmitters already have an electrical signal of each process variable as input information. These changes in resistance or voltage signals are converted by the measuring transmitter into superimposed standard signals. The design of measuring transmitters is so compact that they can be incorporated in the connecting head of thermometers either on the measuring insert instead of the ceramic base or in the cover of the head housing.
"Intelligent" digital measuring transmitters allow connection to all common Pt sensors and can be easily parameterised online through a local interface or via HART or Profibus.
